Website & Apple (TM) devices

One of our members has experienced issues with navigating around our website, using fruit based devices. It was found that up to 2/3 of the devices he had access to suffered from this. As a result our Wise One, has made a number of changes in the back room and we trust that the matter is now resolved. If you should find that you are still having problems, please ensure that your Javascript (TM) is up to date & fully enabled. Should this not solve the problem, please send a full description of your issue to our Webmaster via our ‘Getting in Touch’ page.

London winter meeting – a reminder!

Now that Christmas & New Year are behind us and hopefully the weather is improving. We thought we would remind you about our now regular, winter meeting in London.

So please make a note in your diaries, tablets, laptops or if these do not apply, tell (sorry ask) the wife. The date to log is Saturday 25th January and the meeting starts at around 12.00 noon, when The Royal Oak, 44 Tabard Street, Borough, London, SE1 4JU opens for the day. The Oak is within easy walking distance of both London Bridge & Borough tube stations. If you can get to London early, you will have time to wander around Borough market. There are stalls with bottled beers, always a good choice and lots of cheese, some of the best sausages we have ever tasted and pretty much any other foodstuff you care to name. And some you probably wouldn’t even want to guess at.

For those of you who do not know the Oak, it is a Harveys pub that offers a good choice of beers & food. We hope to see you there update

Following on from the recent posts regarding We are delighted to inform you, that on hovering over a menu option, a tool-tip in English will appear as if by magic. In fact this is really due to the very nice guys who run the site, Job Kroon and Felix Groenewoud, who have ensured that it is much easier for us to find our way around their web pages. Take a look, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Further 1953 Coronation labels added

Pleased to announce that we have added a further 14 images of Coronation labels. Please feel free to contribute images of labels in your own collection. Just scan individually, save with brewery name in jpeg or png format & forward to our Webmaster. Contact detail can be found on our ‘Getting in Touch’ page.

We have updated the published link to the above web site. This can of course be found on our ‘Links’ page. Following an exchange of emails with our fellow collectors in the Netherlands, the new link takes you to an English summary of their ‘Home Page’. This should make life slightly easier for those of us who do not read Dutch. Hopefully there may be further English enhancements in the future.

The above new brewery added to ‘Featured Breweries’ pages. If you would care to add further images then please scan individually, save as jpeg or png files and forward to our Webmaster via our ‘Getting in Touch’ page.

Beer labels of the Netherlands

We have added a link to the above under the ‘Other Useful Websites’ section of our ‘Links’ page. Currently only available in Dutch, but we will be asking if they would upload a translation. Nevertheless it may prove to be of use to those of you with an interest in European labels.

G S Heath Ltd – new images

Pleased to advise you all that we have added another 11 labels images to the above company in the ‘Featured Breweries’ section. Further additions on the way, somewhat delayed by winter viruses I am afraid.

Happy New Year Everyone

We hope that all label collectors, other visitors to our site and everyone involved in brewing & bottling in the UK & Ireland have a healthy and prosperous 2014.

Thank you all for your support, of both the Society & our charities during 2013 and we trust we may look forward to this continuing in the coming year. Cheers!
