New Diary page & other tweaks

Morning all. We have just added a ‘Diary’ page, which has all planned meetings listed. This should make it easier for you to find out where meetings are, rather than scrolling back & forth through the blog pages. As & when details are updated or changed we will advise you, via the ‘Diary’ page & this blog page.

Hopefully this will result in more of you attending the meetings that are arranged.

We have also changed the ‘Getting in Touch’ page to ‘Contact Us’, purely for aesthetic reasons. If you notice that anything has gone pear shaped as a result, please let us know via the ‘Contact Us’ page. Our Webmaster will be delighted to hear from you.

Yes, we know the links at the bottom of each page now need to be altered. One of our coding elves is working on this later this afternoon.

1937 Coronation Labels

As threatened earlier today, we have now published our 1937 Coronation page. This can be found on the drop down from the Gallery tab. Only 11 images so far, but we are sure you can help us out there folks. We await the flood of images, with bated breath.

Coronation Labels & Website visits

To coincide with this site having received over 65,000 visits since its launch in June 2013. We have just uploaded another eight 1953 Coronation label images. Plans are in hand for a 1937 Coronation page, so keep a look out. We hope to upload the first images in the next day or so.

As the 1937 labels are not as common as 1953 ones, we would be grateful if collectors would scan any they may have, save as jpeg files & forward to our webmaster via our getting in Touch page. This may also change in the near future to a Contact Us page. We will of course let you know of this and any other changes, as they happen.

Thanks in advance, Peter & Pete

Whilst browsing through the old newsletters, from my first spell as a member. I spotted this cover from issue 2 of 1982, now as I do not have any of these labels in my collection I was wondering who the lucky owner is? Obviously I have my suspicions!

Are they still a member of the Society? If so would they or anyone else be kind enough to let us have scans, for inclusion in either the Gallery or featured Breweries pages. The destination will of course depend on how many scans are forthcoming.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Just as an afterthought, if anyone happens to have any spares………………………………..!

What is your opinion, would a dedicated Diary page be worthwhile on our website? Please let our webmaster (me) know what you think.

To coincide with us having now received over 60,000 views our website, we have uploaded some old & rare label images. These are from Barlow of Southampton, Canterbury Brewery Co., Danes of Aylesford, Friary, Holroyd & Healey, Elworthy of Kettering, Mills of Wisbech, Weller of Amersham and an Old Wrekin Brewery from Wellington. As always should you wish to share images of your favourite old label or a selection of labels from your favourite brewery. We will be more than happy to accommodate these in either the ‘Gallery’ or a new page in ‘Featured Breweries’. Just scan them individually, name with brewery & beer, save as a jpeg or png file & send them to our webmaster via the ‘Getting in Touch’ page.

Old Guinness labels

Have just added a further 8 new images to Arthur Guinness & Son in the ‘Featured Breweries’ pages

1953 Coronation Update

If 1953 Coronation labels are one of you specialist areas, then you will no doubt be delighted that we have added around a dozen new label images. As always if you would care to share some of your favorites, with fellow collectors & the whole of the interweb. Then please scan individually, save as either a jpeg or png file and email to our webmaster via our ‘Getting in Touch’ page.
