Last year Phipps NBC returned to its roots in a Victorian brewery in the heart of Northampton, 40 years after Phipps’ Bridge Street brewery closed. Since April 2014 their Albion Brewed beers have been available throughout the East Midlands once more, on draught and in bottle. The Society is pleased to announce that this year’s Label of the Year Awards meeting, courtesy of our hosts for the day, Phipps NBC, will be held at The Albion Brewery, 54 Kingswell St. Northampton, NN1 1PR, UK

The meeting will open to members at 12.00 noon and you are asked to use the main door entrance at 54 Kingswell Street. We hope to have all the usual attractions of a Label of the Year event including a donation of cask ale, a buffet, a raffle and a charity auction of labels (see next post). The awards meeting will be held in the The awards meeting will be held in the Brewhouse where a cask of ale will be available for us (with of course a suitable donation to a charity) which this year is Cancer UK.           CRUK logo

Our annual fundraising event has, over the years, had a considerable bias towards medical charities and we hope that you will support this year’s charity, partly in memory of our late Treasurer, Des Clarke. We hope of course to, once again raise a memorable amount for this worthwhile cause.

Albion Bar

Our hosts are generously providing a ploughman’s buffet, for those members that have booked in advance. Hot food & other drinks will available in the bar, which will also be open to the general public on the day. Members attending will be provided with an ID card on arrival (to prevent confusion at the bar!).
If you, and any guests you may wish to bring, would like to attend this event. Please reserve your places at £10 per head as soon as possible by emailing loty@labology.org.uk

If you must bring a car (& a non-drinking driver please), St Peter’s Way car park at the end of Foundry Street is a very short walk. Disabled badge holders may park in the loading bay on the Foundry Street side of the brewery.

You just need to remember to bring lots of £££s to buy loads of labels, raffle tickets, the odd beer of course & to take part in our excellent auction!

Raffle prizes or items for our auction, will of course be gratefully received, so there is no need to be shy about your generous nature.
