Unusual names for a Stout #12; Digestive

Eldridge Pope & Co were upfront about bottling and selling Digestive Stout, but they don’t admit to brewing it and by inference naming it. It is just possible that someone got it confused with a biscuit or maybe were trying to highlight the health-giving qualities of their Stout. Claims of this kind became less common through the 1920s.
