Cornbrook Brewery Co Ltd

The brewery was founded in the 18th century and was first registered in 1885. The company was not aggressive in the takeover marker, acquiring Boardman’s United Breweries in 1899 and the Phoenix Brewery in Heywood in 1939. Purchased by Charrington & Co in 1961 and continued to brew as part of United Lancastrian and then Bass Charrington until closure in 1973.
