Lacon & Co Ltd

The brewery was founded as early as 1640 and acquired by the Lacon family in 1760. It was registered as a private company in 1894 and as a public company in 1952. Taken over by Whitbread & Co Ltd in 1965 when over 350 public houses were owned. Closure came in 1968.
