I am sure every collector, whatever their particular interest, paintings, stamps, glassware, Edd the Duck memorabilia or beer labels will get that little buzz of excitement when they acquire a really attractive or sought after item. I have always been interested in the early history of the United States and the connections with the United Kingdom. So I was keen to acquire this label from the Portsmouth Brewing Co. in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which closed in 1917, when the state enacted prohibition; it arrived this week and yes, it did make the heart beat a little faster. Beautiful.
