London Meeting 28th January

Just a quick reminder that the London meeting is on Saturday 28th January at The Royal Oak, 44, Tabard Street, Borough, London, SE1 4JU.

As usual we kick off at around 12.00 and there will be another auction of labels from the late Des Clarke’s collection.

Some images of these will appear in this blog over the next couple of days. There are of course Harvey’s ales to enjoy, along with excellent food.

As is normal for our January meeting, it is a joint meeting with the guys from ABBC. So why not join us, for what is always a well attended meeting.

If you are early, have a wander around Borough Market, there are a couple of bottle shops, which will no doubt be difficult to resist!

We look forward to catching up with everyone, so we will see you in London.

Hi. I was at an archery shoot so couldnt make meeting. Any chance these labels pictured for the auction could be listed with prices realised. Or perhaps a figure next to each label in the four pages of label pictured please showing what they went for. Cheers Alan

I will do that. Only the first three pages of labels were auctioned, gremlins prevented page #4 from being offered, however the first three pages did realise a figure in excess of £1000.

The gremlin responsible has been identified. The labels in question were still on the bed of my scanner, whoops. They will be up for grabs at next live auction. Honest!
A good meeting once again, with a fair amount of “the same old faces” in a good way. Delighted to meet one of our Scandinavian members, Helge, who made the trip from Norway.

Many thanks to Pete for assembling a great auction! What a great batch of labels! Lots of interest in them and some competitive biding.
Overall the meeting was a lot of fun and I really enjoy the Swapping, I got some great new micro brewery labels that I am really please to get! The beer was great as well!
