The Crown Brewery of E & G Morse, Lowestoft

A tour has been arranged of the old Crown Brewery of E & G Morse, Lowestoft (who brewed there from 1895 to 1936) on Friday 8th April 2016. The lunchtime tour, which will last about an hour, will be followed by food and refreshments at the Triangle Tavern for those who would like that! The Green Jack Brewery are brewing a special beer for the event.
The tour is being arranged jointly with the Lowestoft Historical Society so there are only limited places available. For more information, or to book, please contact Eric Dore – eric@ericdore.plus.com
This is a follow up to Eric’s book on the history of the Morse family brewing interests at Lowestoft, Norwich and Swaffham which was published last November. Signed copies of “De-Coding the Morses” will be available on the day at £8 each

I shall be there in spirit, though not corporeally! Have a great time. Eric Dore’s book is excellent. If he’s there you might like to let him know I can help him out on a query he has in his book relating to vacuum brewing.

Such a pity they make paint brushes there. Much better to brew beer. Mind you, better to make paint brushes than have the wonderful Victorian edifice demolished and turned into an ASDA!!
